"Design is a constant challenge to balance the practical with the desirable"

Inbal Kahaner studied Industrial Design at the renowned Holon Academic Institute of Technology in her home country of Israel. From 2009-2014 she was a senior designer in Israel, specialising in designing furniture for mass production.

As a leading furniture designer, her products have been greatly successful and have sold worldwide in addition to winning a handful of prizes.

Inbal's designs demonstrate a passion for innovative design and an awareness of the factor that affect design for mass production. “As a designer, I have always been interested in developing innovative ideas and concepts in order to deliver functional products that look great. My real drive is to create affordable and accessible furniture that enhances the aesthetics of any outdoor space and it is a thrill to know that people all over the world are using one of my designs in their everyday life. In many ways, this continuous search for innovation is mirrored by LifestyleGarden®, as it is part of the DNA of the brand to develop new materials, products and technology to create sustainably-produced high-quality pieces for everyone“.

"Life is too short to not pay attention to comfort"

Rune, very tellingly, says about his vocation that “Design is not my job it is my passion!

He has worked with outdoor furniture design most of his professional life; having been employed by some of the biggest companies in the industry as well as doing freelance work and consultancy.

Rune's background as a fully educated furniture designer includes 5 years of education; primarily as a combination of education as a cabinet designer and production engineer. This has given him a strong background in understanding and developing products that fit the industry on various parameters - from aesthetics to comfort and structural integrity.

What makes Rune unique as a designer is that he is fuelled not only by the desire to deliver great product design and optimisations, but also his knowledge of the commercial side. As Rune puts it: “For me a good design is only a good design once it is sold to the end consumer with great happiness and in big volumes“.

He names his biggest inspiration for design and business as Mr. Lars Larsen (founder of the Lars Larsen Group).

"The goal is to achieve the matching point between beauty & performance"

Quique is a Spanish designer with an academic background from Spain and Italy. He has been designing for LifestyleGarden® since October 2016 after a short stay and experience in Italy at the DelineoDesign Studio.

He has a degree in Industrial Design & Product Development from the Universitat Politecnica de Valencia, in addition to a Master's in Furniture Design from the ELISAVA school of Design in Barcelona.

Quique describes himself as a half engineer & half artist, a person that dives deeply into the properties of each material before approaching a project in order to understand the opportunities and limits. He always aims to bring with solutions that satisfies both functionality and aesthetics. He is a strong follower of the meaning behind the quotes from The Eames “The details are not the details, they make the design“ and Coco Chanel “Simplicity is the key note of all true elegance“.

"A comfortable space is something everyone needs and deserves."

Alex, a Danish national with an international background, holds a Product Design degree from Nottingham Trent University in the U.K. With time spent in multiple countries and across several continents, Alex's approach to the design process is almost fluid and experimental in nature and will often include stylistic elements of different origins.

Through Alex's work, he invites the audience to ‘Play’. He believes that while beautiful and simple aesthetics are key factors in any design, an essential element - 'Play' - opens up emotion allowing for the development of a personal connection. This culminates in a strong relationship to our design pieces; no matter how big or small they may be. Pair this with carefully considered functionality and focus on customer fit and you have Alex's design ethos.

With sustainability being close to our hearts and a key driver in everything we do, Alex is a perfect fit as a designer, describing his motivation as follows:- The driving force behind my design has always been focused on our fragile cohabitation with Earth and compassion for those who live on it. We must stay committed and not be defeated by the challenges of providing sustainable and ethical products and solutions to the market. We have a duty to support the ethical consumer of the future with transparency in practice and cyclical design in mind. At its most essential, we all deserve honest, clean, and affordable designs for the perfect comfortable space.

"We are industrial designers with love for modern Scandinavian design. Simplicity and functionality are the core qualities of our iconic designs."

Their solid business understanding and a wide array of skills within design, construction, and engineering made them a great team from the start.
